WEI Xueming is an associate professor in the School of Humanities at BUPT. He was a visiting scholar at Oregon State University. He began his career as an English teacher in 2000. Beside teaching Intensive Reading, Extensive Reading and Listening for non-English majors for almost a decade, he also participated a number of teaching reform programs conducted among the non-English majors at BUPT and published many translation works. His experience working with BUPT English majors prompted him to further his studies in intercultural communication as a visiting scholar at Oregon State University from February 2011 to January 2012. Currently, he teaches English majors Intensive Reading, Viewing, Listening and Speaking, and Foundations of Intercultural Communication. His research focuses on issues of cultural identity and intercultural communication.
